How To Make USB Bootable To Install Windows?

We will be using RUFUS to make our USB bootable as it is free and most easy booting tool available out there.

It is a software which allows us to create a bootable USB by selecting an ISO file . This software is very helpful while installing windows when you don't have a DVD/CD available at that current moment. 

RUFUS can be used to install any windows like windows 10/8.1/7 .

Here i will be showing you how to boot USB using RUFUS and make it into windows 10 latest version USB bootable drive.

Some Simple Requirements:

  • RUFUS application. To download RUFUS latest version   click here 
  • ISO file for Creating Installation Media.
  • USB device with adequate capacity (minimum 8 Gb)

I am assuming you have downloaded RUFUS. Now, run the app it will show an interface like this...

Now connect your USB( minimum 8 gb ) to the system  , as soon as you connect, it will be displayed under device dropdown menu.
Make sure the USB is empty, if not, format it.

Now click on select button under boot selection, make sure the disk or ISO image option is selected.

Browse the windows  ISO in your system click on it and hit open.

Keep all the settings at default as in the below image.

Now click on start under status tab -

Wait for it to complete and click on close when it gets done.
Your USB is now ready to boot your pc and install windows.

HOW TO FIX USB DEVICE NOT RECOGNIZED IN WINDOWS ?

You might have encountered a situation where your computer system doesn't detect your USB, it might be after making USB bootable, or changing its partitions or trying to expand its size a little bit. HOW TO MAKE DRIVE HIDE / VISIBLE IN MY COMPUTER ?

After installing the WINDOWS , you might want to HIDE one or more drive(s) or make them VISIBLE . Sometimes you manually have to make them VISIBLE after updating or installing newer version of windows. No need to worry though its just a simple task that hardly takes 2 or 3 minutes.
